For the busy b*tch.
Breakfast is usually a forgotten meal in most career based lives. Aside from the fact that it will prevent you from binging at lunch, it’s also what breaks the fast (get it?) from dinner. Not everyone has time for a 20 minute tofu scramble or 30 minute waffles. Here are three recipes options that take no more than 5 minutes.
Mint-Berry Protein Smoothie
What you need:
-1 bar of frozen Sambazon Acai Berry
-1 scoop vegan protein powder (I chose vanilla for this recipe)
-1 small handful of mint leaves
-1 cup spinach leaves
-1 cup almond milk unsweetened
Take all ingredients and put into blender or I used my Ninja Nutri Cup which is also handy because you can just take it with you. Also it only comes up to about 200 calories for the whole drink and meets 51% of my protein needs based on Cronometer.
Cheezy Instant Grits
What you need:
-1/4 cup instant grits
-1/2 cup water
-1 slice of vegan cheese
-salt and pepper to taste
Start by boiling the water on the stove then mixing in your grits. Turn the heat down and continue to mix once it the grits start to absorb the water add your cheese. Mix till thickened and season to taste. It may not look like much but this is super savory!!!
Warm and Sweet oat bowl
-1/3 cup 3 minute steel cut oats
-3/4 cup water
-1 tbsp. shredded coconut
-1 tbsp. cocoa nibs (vegan)
-2 tbsps. pecans
-1 small handful frozen berries (rinsed to defrost)
-1 tbsp. maple syrup
You can boil the water in a tea kettle to save time and once whistling add the water and oats to a bowl and cover with a cloth for 3 minutes. Then add all your toppings how you like:)
All of these recipes are very easy to customize for your tastes and liking but give you kind of the idea of what to add and how much of each thing.
